After months of craptastic internet service (the last week of which was particularly useless) I finally ditched my DSL provider and switched to AT&T. I am now reconnected, and am busy catching up on all the stuff that I didn't even attempt to try and read when my connection would drop every 20 minutes or so ( Read more... )

and that is why I never use the ISP provided email. It's not provided as a convinience, it's like the barb on a fish hook making it harder for you to slip off the line.

OY, how provoking! I have a horror of bad service; there is NO excuse for that sort of thing in this age of business competition. Glad you have something better now though, to provide you with better service.

May I suggest gmail as an email service? I have found it to be AWESOME so far as ease of use, organization and convenience. It takes a tiny bit of getting used to but once you learn a couple of basic features, it's very intuitive.

Thanks for the suggestion - I'll check into it. If it's POP3 and talks to Outlook, I'll sign up.
