The World according to Sharpe #5

My existence would be so much simpler would a Howard son marry a Brandon daughter. Or vice versa.
May God preserve England from the ambitions of these two feuding Dukes.

Remeber, Sharpe, I am always just around the next corner you will turn, I am just out of your line of sight, and I will send all my children to court with special instructions about you should you ever say such a thing again.

The sons of Norfolk need no assistance in finding brides worthy of their lineage, Commander...and the Brandon daughters, the unfortunate Lady Mary aside, are well matched already - or at least as well as their father can purchase. As for the reverse - it takes a strong man to be worthy of a Howard bride, and young Lincoln hath his hands already full with his convent-bred Kate.

I suggest you resign yourself to the difficulties of your situation, Sharpe, as they do not look to be resolved anytime soon. Alternately, I hear that Swansea is lovely this time of year.

Well spoken indeed! I will add that old money mixed with new simply creates more problems than even the heartiest Brandon can handle.

as for you Sharpe...

I too will be just around the corner think of truly V.I.L.E. things that can be incorporated into your very day to make you feel...

... "special"

Hehehe

Were I to become betrothed to a Howard, the feud would only become more bitter when he died shortly after the betrothal. After all, it is not as I if I have a very good track record on actually making it to the altar with my prospective grooms.
