I came across a similar situation a week ago...a defect identified after user started working on the application...which technically shud have been caught by my tester...so, in the meeting the test lead asks the tester "It's ur program from which the defect was found, how come u missed it in the first point". My tester was really offended...I had to come in between and just rephrased the question as, "Look Karen, could you please re-check your defect log and let us know if this scenario was covered. Based on ur findings we can decide what to do next!"...which ofcourse pleased the lady...phew!! atleast with my presence of mind I cud stop a tussle and get the team to work again on fixing the issue...

Hi Harsha, This is a good one. Have you heard of the Delphi technique? This technique goes even more deeper. It is a systematic way of making a person or group or community or country or even the world accept something that you want through an organized method without the others even realizing that you have been made to do accept it. At least that is how I understood it to be :-) Regards, Saji

Delphi technique does ring a bell ... it is as far as I can recall a method to conduct successful meetings. Yes wikipedia also says somewhat similar. I have always felt that books and classes can teach little soft skills, but experience is the one which goes long way... of course it has its own price.
