Finished watching Castlevania : Lords of Shadow walkthrough play by Mahalo. (He/She definitely did a first run playthrough recording cuz there were some parts where I feel like strangling him/her)
Firstly, the game is so beautiful, it made me wanna run out and buy a PS3 just for this game.
But due to being not enough money in my own bank, I have to persevere a little bit longer .... .. .
Plot-wise everything was so shrouded in angst and dark plot that not even I can predict what might happen at the next minute. And yet the plot is really simple to understand. You go on a journey - you kill monsters - got possesed - still move on - and then NUOOOOOOOOOOOOOO (I try to not spoil it really)
And then you have a middle-age old man stalking you in the background, trying to chronicle your journeys like what chronicles do, but in a stalking way. And when things get really messy and angsty he start showing you his true colours by spouting all stalker-philic-homophilic words which some should just ignore and just move on really.
Before you know it, said old man turns out to have been stalking you for another evil plot and starts feeling good by himself but turns out the stalker was stalked by an even more evil force! .... And gets burned into oblivion as we know it. ... .
Wait I shouldn't be saying all this ... .. ... .
On to the true Dracula ending,
Things that I couldn't believe in 7 mins of the ending :
1) That old-man was alive?! And AN IMMORTAL?!
2) WTH GABRIEL WTH SRSLY OF ALL THINGS DRACULA.?! YOU GOT TO BE KIDDING ME KONAMI
3) MODERN CITY ?!!!
4) And all that, Konami just threw a "Oh this whole game was not in the original timeline because its too confusing to try to slot it in the original timeline, so we made it with the idea that this whole thing is a standalone"
=_= *bazookas Konami*
Gabriel falling from grace was not exactly a big shock. Being forced into immortality when one doesn't want it is a curse. What is the use of saving humanity when you can't even safe yourself or the one you love.
Trying to sit it through eternity doesn't seem to work. Trying to be a saint doesn't give you salvation. Killing and massacring as you go and trying to get stronger enemies to kill you off, that doesn't seem to work too.
Trying to fall from grace and get God to punish you didn't work either.
What the hell do you want? Why the hell am I still here for?
Was he stuck being a greater evil just to fend off Satan?
God is Cruel in Castlevania.
Maybe the future installments will have us a Dracula PoV game instead. I would want more of Gabriel's story to be told.
Ending it here is just sad. :(((( *very sad face*
However I heard the next installment is of a different Belmont generation. Can't remember his name. Oh wells....
