Well, I got hit by an idea for a crackfic, and here it is. Holy cow, but... my fanfiction brain is seriously on crack. There's no other explanation.
The black girl saw the short blonde moving, and got hit by deja vu in a major way. The girl moved just like... just like Rachel used to. Next to me, Tobias grabbed my arm. He'd noticed the resemblance, too.

Xander stopped Buffy. "You've got to be kidding me. She's little."
Buffy glared at him. "So am I."
Xander nodded. "Yeah, but your attitude makes up for it." She swatted him. "You know what I mean."
Buffy shrugged. "Yeah, I guess. Look, you have to remember: this girl is already a hero. She and her friends saved the world from the things we didn't notice."
Xander understood what she was getting at. "Yeah. And now we have to tell her that it's not over. She gets to save the world some more."
Buffy looked at the guy standing next to the girl, and shivered when she met his eyes. There was something not quite... human about him. Not supernatural, or anything like that; just not human. "Careful. There's something about that guy. He's a predator."

The blonde and her one-eyed friend were walking up to them. She looked at Tobias, and tried to calm down. "I don't know what's going on, but I think we need to talk to them."
"Your call, Cass. But I have to change in half an hour." He reminded her. Not like they'd ever needed reminding. After their first battle, they'd always known exactly how long they had. One of those things that they paid close attention to. Because of what had happened to him.
"Hi. Are you Cassie?" The blonde spoke first.
"Yeah. But that's something you could have figured out just by turning on the news last year." Tobias answered for her.
"Yes, I'm Cassie. Why do you need to talk to me?" Her parents had told her repeatedly that one of her greatest strenghts was the ability to take everything in stride. It wasn't something that came easily to her; it was a learned trait. But she would agree, it was something that came in handy a lot.
"Look, I'm going to tell you something that's kinda unbelievable."
Cassie raised an eyebrow. "More unbelievable than aliens invading Earth by climbing into people's brains?"
The blonde nodded. "Got a point there. First, my name is Buffy Summers, and this is my friend Xander."
Cassie smiled. "Nice to meet you. This is my friend Tobias. Now, what's so unbelievable?"
Buffy took a deep breath and spoke to Xander. "You'd think this would be easier, after saying it so many times." He smiled, and she turned back to Cassie. "There are vampires and other demons in the world. And there are the people who stop them. I'm one of them. You're another."
Cassie laughed. "You've got the wrong girl. It's not me."
Tobias nudged her. "They're telling the truth. I can see it on their faces."
Cassie looked at him. "Just because they believe something doesn't mean that they're wrong."
Buffy sighed. "See, I really suck at this. Okay, watch." She flipped into a handstand, then picked up a hand, so she was only on one hand. Then she shifted herself so she was only on her fingers. Okay, that was impressive. Then she bent her arm, and launched herself in the air, managing to complete a a flip, and a half of one, before landing on her feet. "Look, I'm strong. You're about as strong as I am. Have you noticed a change in you recently? Nightmares, strength, speed, and the like?"
Cassie nodded. "Yeah, I have. Are you trying to tell me that I still need to save the world?"
Buffy gave her a sad smile. "Yeah. This job is never over. The world keeps needing saving. Even Xander's saved the world. Hey, you don't have to make a decision about anything now, but, if you want, we house other girls like us, where they train and work together. I've been doing this since I was fourteen, and I help teach other girls. Xander, who doesn't get the superpower dealie, has been doing it almost as long as I have. We have people who will help you, if you decide to do it."
Cassie snorted. "Please. I had my chance to abandon the world years ago. I'm still here."
"I'm coming with you, Cassie." Tobias spoke softly, but firmly.
Xander interjected. "It's going to be hard, convincing people to let you fight. You'll be surrounded by people who can beat the snot out of you, no contest."
Tobias gave him a look. "Buffy looks tough. But I doubt that she could take on a lion."
Buffy thought for a moment. "Surprisiingly enough, I don't really have experiance with the kind of animals you see in zoos. Except hyenas, and they weren't even really hyenas." She smiled at Cassie. "It's nice to have you joining us. Xander and I will be going to Cleveland next week, if you'd like to come back with us. That'll give you some time to say goodbye to your family and friends."
Cassie nodded. "We'll be there."
End
(That was Tobias and Cassie from Animorphs, for anyone who hasn't read the books... or if I did a lousy job on them.
Okay, I'm fairly certain that that sucked. But I had to get it out of my brain.
