[Clearly not Kazuki cause he hasn't visited in weeks.]
...Cheng?
[It took her a moment to recognize him, his posture looked completely different and he seemed to have aged considerably since the last time she saw him. Not surprisingly however Canon was not in a good mood despite meeting the soldier again.]
What are you doing back on this ship weren't you rebuilding Gucun?
[For someone who supposedly didn't care she sure did know a lot.]
I was. But... complications had arisen. Between one of my... 'predecessor's experimental weapons as well as an insurgent group - I've had to leave things in the hands of my aide.
[His expression may as well have been stone.]
And what of your situation Canon? This is the last place I expected to meet you again.
Perhaps. But I was able to pull myself from where I fell. The question is, will you be able to do the same. You are a soldier Canon, one who follows orders unflinchingly. You are dedicated to your duties and are loyal to the core.
[Cheng steps close and grabs hold of one of the bars, looking Canon in the eyes.]
You may have failed at whatever task you have been given, but many others have done the same. To fail is not pathetic. To fail to stand after a blow is.
So it was him after all. Not just a name to throw in the last second, to take our guards down. Wang Ding Bang... we butted heads so many times. But I did not expect him to be capable of something like this.
Indeed. He was many things... headstrong and opinionated among them... but no one would have called him a traitor or rebel.
[Still. Cheng is looking concerned.]
It is best to take him alive in any case. Bringing back a corpse will serve only to martyr him to his followers still in Gucun and drive them deeper. We need to know who else follows him.
Yes. As tempted as I am to exercise bloody murder... that would achieve nothing. We must find him, and learn everything - his followers, his plan of action, his motivations.
I heard his forces had an experimental outsider unit.
They did. Apparently it was similar to the machines the Titans use now as well as Celestial Being's Gundams. Looted from one of Jun Wei's caches. We never did find the contents until now. The insurgents must have been planning this for years...
[And if they had that little number, would that mean they were responsible for the time-space dilation weapon being activated?]
Which begs the question just what else would they have looted.
...I know. Knowing it doesn't mean I won't be very unhappy with you for a while. I killed people today I didn't have to. That's not something I want anyone assuming I'm okay with.
You're sure this... person was really the mastermind? If someone else set him up, he might have run anyway.
And as for this possibility. He is either the mastermind or he isn't. He was still seen last in the company of the insurgents. Either way. He needs to come back alive.

I failed at the task I was given. Kazuki brought me back to the Chalice so...here I am.
[She lets out a small laugh, directed mostly at herself.]
It seems like our positions have swapped. I'm the pathetic one now.
