Mother's Day Classic

Ok - So I signed up for a fun run, though that comment in itself seems to me to be an oxymoron.

What is this runners high that people tell me about? - If it is that feeling where you can't breath, you feel the need to fall on to the ground and you want to throw up, then yes... I have definitely felt that.

But lets be clear, this is a great cause.  It is raising money for Breast Cancer Research.  So as far as I know, I am running to save boobs and the boobs of women everywhere.  This elusive body part is on the verge of becoming an endangered species - and if you have visited any of the beaches in Melbourne, after growing up in Perth and seeing the beaches there, well you would totally understand what I am saying here.

The fact that I hate running is irrelevant, I will do it and I will finish it.  I didn't think I would be able to complete Tough Mudder - a 22km obstacle course and although I couldn't walk for a couple of days afterwards, the bruises and war wounds were definitely carried with some sort of feeling which I will just call pride.... Or maybe it was stupidity :p  Either way, I did that for me but this is for something that affects many people in many ways - I am not just talking about those that have it, but those who are affected by it.  Family. Friends. Colleagues. Neighbours.

The thing that concerns me about this run is that running is a foreign kind of fitness for me.  I could jump in the pool and swim 8km, no problem, but running 1km and I genuinely think I may have some sort of fitness induced coronary.  Best I start training!!!

And if anyone can spare some cash to donate - please do :)
