I haven't really been updating my journal recently. Not really sure why but I guess I haven't had that much interesting to say. We've been pretty busy this summer. We went to Brockville for an extra long weekend which was awesome. Nice and relaxing. We went to a wedding in Cambridge. It was someone that Dave works with so I got to hang out ( Read more... )

Sorrento is beautiful! Also go to the Isle of Capri to see the blue grotto! Beautiful.

Rome scared me. It was nice to see all the landmarks and stuff, but it was so crazy busy and touristy and it scared me. I did not want to buy a keychain and have it blessed by the pope!

I have heard that Sorrento is beautiful. Did you go to Venice and Florence while you were there? Are they a definite must see? What else was good? What time of year were you there?

We did not go to Venice, so I can't comment on that.

We did spend a lot of time in Florence, and I liked it more than Rome, but that might have been because the time spent in Rome was very structured and scheduled and I felt like we were always getting bussed somewhere to look at something for 10 minutes. Maybe it's not as bad when you're on your own schedule.

Florence I loved, but we had a lot of time to wander around on our own, to shop in the markets, and walk through all the piazzas. I think it was just generally less crazy and I wasn't so scared.

(Watch your butt in Italy! Men will grab it!) :)
