The Return of the Home Care Assistant From Hell

So... Lupe was back yesterday, for the first or second time since I moved. As usual, she managed to massively piss me off in several ways. For one, she took two of my (returnable, perfectly reusable) U-Haul boxes, and cut the flaps off one end to turn them into hampers. This is significant in that these were the largest of the boxes I had left from ( Read more... )

What headaches! And doesn't she realize, under most circumstances, that even if you HAD the budget for more money? Messing stuff up is not the way to get a raise!

I honestly think she thinks she's helping. And, again, I think she has thrown away some of my dishes. I have(had?) glasses that were jars, and originally contained pomegranate juice, and were intended to be re-used as glasses. I can't find any of them anymore. I had a bunch of those semi-disposable plastic containers in various sizes which she has repeatedly thrown away, and I eventually stopped replacing, because it was too expensive. Yet she washed some of my plastic forks and put them in the dish drainer. I don't get her. I just don't.

Why do you still HAVE her? If she comes from an agency, complain to *them*, since talking to her does no good. If she gets fired over it, oh well, maybe she'll listen better at her next job.

She's not from an agency. She's, unfortunately, the only access to a housekeeper I have. I spoke with my AC about it today, though, and she's going to make sure she's here during Lupe's time for the next while to help direct things.

i had a thought, regarding your desk.

can she read English? make a sign in bright colors that says DO NOT TOUCH, and see if she moves it? then, when she does, you can take it up with her supervisor.

this may or may not work, but it's the first thing that comes to mind.

She does not read English. I'm pretty sure she doesn't read Spanish either. Also, she has no supervisor. She is independent. However, as noted in my reply above, my AC, Alina, is going to do some supervision and direction for the next little while.
