So, I'm in the office today, and I decided a few minutes ago to finish up a project I've been working on for two weeks or so. In essence, it's tabulating volunteer hours for various projects and assigning them to various categories from there. As a windows user who hasn't had a problem of the sort you're describing in over 10 years, I would like to say I've had more catastrophic failures of that sort on Macs than I ever have on Windows.

Which is impressive, considering I've used Macs for one year of my life, and Windows for over 20.

Also, the "open where it was" you describe is not a Mac-specific thing. My copy of MS Office does the same thing.

I honestly don't care whether it's Mac specific or not. MY Mac would have done so. This was not specifically a Windows rant. This was a general rant because of two weeks of wasted work. Let's not turn it into a battle over PC and Mac.
