It has not been done, and it's an excellent suggestion!

Thank you!

I'm afraid this might be a bit off-topic, but I believe that the eligibility for nomination of last round went until July 21st, 2008. I for one, and probably others, posted new fic between July 21st and August 1st, 2008. Would it be possible to fudge this round's timeline a wee bit, so those of us who were denied eligibility by a few days last round don't miss out again?

(1) Moving nominations forward to October sounds like a very good idea to me.
(3) How about Threesomes as a theme?

As for a timeline, I know it would be a long time to wait, but Nov. & Dec will be the final "push" for the OWL House Cup and I think there will be quite a few fangirls reading and writing for that, and therefore may not have the time to dedicate to reading all the nominees fics for proper voting. It might be easier to do the actual voting in January and allow Nov and Dec for reading (and that week or so in Jan for catching up after dedicating so much time to reading/writing for OWL).

Just a thought. :)

The nominating process for the OWL Awards usually begins in January, and this year there is also Severus' Big Bang. On a normal year, we'd also have the exchange going on in January. LOL So January is already full.

We have always worked our schedule around other things going on, but I can't change it to suit all other activities, especially ones that began after we did. You know what I mean?

Actually, having the voting in November or December might be good for the OWL cup ... if participants want to read/review for points, why not read the nominees? ;)

Thank you for the suggestion!

hi, was just thinking that it's quite alright if the voting period spans the holidays since without school - okay so this just applies to students or teachers xD - we'd have more time to read.

*looks down at other comments*

oh wait, several people suggested that already. but anyway, i concur :D

another random thought but perhaps you could try a 'best prologue/epilogue' or 'best proposal scene' or a 'most in character cast' or something to that effect. somewhat like mini-awards for a certain cut from a fic that makes it stand out. in that case, we'd just nominate the specific chapter involved.

oh well, just a thought. all the best with round four^^
