I liked this story, not just for what you told us, but also for what you left out. I think you portayed a very realistic Hermione, and left me with a few questions. How did Snape originally die? What else did she do when she returned to the past with them? What advice did Draco give his younger counterpart? Oh, you tease, you! If I were Hermione, I would have changed the past too.

Good questions, and I could have answered them but it would have taken me years to write and would, I think, have been less effective in the end. I found that the more I tried to explain things, the less they wanted to be explained.

Although Hermione didn't return to the past with them... Sorry if I was unclear about that.

I was reading this worrying about the recipient's reaction, knowing that she does not like time turner stories. I like them oh so very much and I have read many in the SSHG ship. This is a very good one. It made me think about life, my life as well as all the heros' lives. Yes, some things are left unsaid and it makes me feel, like the last paragraph says, as if all these (and god knows how many more) lives were still real, every moment could turn this way or that, the risk contained in our ever-present present alive and well.

Took some time to read this. When I started I could not put it down. Well thought out time turner fic, which is rare. You made it work plausibly for me. I really like the thoughts of the younger but grown, older Hermione in 2017 who was given information to change the events of her future self. That was an excellent bit. I wonder too, becasue Snape would possess the knowledge of HG's feelings from that first future time. it just juxataposed against the urgent/late nagging of Severus at the moment of her musings.

As for Snape's nagging... He was hungry, and, from my experience, hungry men have little to no patience, even when they understand motives. It's that stereotypical insensitive following the base instincts thing. (Or that's what I tell myself late at night, when I'm lying in bed worrying about plot continuity.) :D
