It makes perfect sense that Severus and Hermione would share many of the same insecurities (as well as interests); thank goodness that they're both pushy enough to get to the heart of matters. I like that the Mirror of Erised was instrumental in their happily ever after, but you show how much communication matters in a relationship, too, and I love that. :D

They definitely need to communicate, and this was just the catalyst for them to begin to do so.

Hermione chuckled. "Well, you're not wrong." She studied him. "Look, Severus, I know you can be prickly, but if you insist on treating me like that whenever you feel like it, we can't be friends."
I like a Hermione that stands up for herself. I like a Sev that can give an earnest apology.

Severus quickly withdrew from her mind and looked to his plate. He usually didn't reach into people's thoughts, but he really wanted to know what she'd seen. That didn't make it right, though.

Mmmm nice to see someone treating the ethics of legilimency as seriously as I do!

He turned away from her. "Granger, as we've previously discussed, I'm an arse. You said you can't be friends with an arse, and I've just proven that I am one once again. Our friendship was pleasant while it lasted."

OH RIDICULOUS. This is a very feral sev and I am here for it.

Very sweet fic!

Thank you so much! Severus definitely needed to be put in his place for reaching out through Legilimency like he did. It's not cool, and even he knew it.
He at least can admit when he's wrong, and that's a good thing.

I loved the moment they revealed to each other what they saw. This was very sweet! 💖

Oh, the feels.
Such a lovely demonstration of the early changes in a relationship between two brilliant intellectuals who excel at over-thinking. That first step off that cliff is really hard, and in this case, handsomely rewarded.
Thank you for a lovely start to the day, MA.

Thank you! They needed the mirror's push, and thankfully they embraced it eventually. LOL

This was a lovely little fic, MA! Oohhhh, that mirror! Really, it should be taken off the grounds already! It’s far too much trouble. You didn’t explain in this fic but I always wonder as to the characters’ motivations to store it indefinitely at Hogwarts... it would probably be better off in a Goblin Vault somewhere. 😂

You had several little subtle things I enjoy in SSHG fics such as Hermione taking a lot of liberty taking and calling Snape “Severus” while he continues to call her “Granger”.

When Snape lashed out in anger (first with the rude comment about her hair being tamed in the mirror, and then later when he’s like “well, our friendship was nice for the three point two seconds it lasted”) to cover up his discomfort was very Snape-like.

I especially loved this line: "I can no longer call you Granger if I'm going to kiss you like this all the time." 🥰🥰🥰

Thank you for sharing your work for the fest! I hope you’re so proud of this!

❤️❤️❤️❤️

Thank you so much!! You know, that Mirror really does need to be in a Goblin vault. No idea why it would still be at the school. Perhaps the school owns it, but who knows. I'm sure whatever the reason, Dumbledore is behind it, because he's behind every wrong thing that happens at Hogwarts. I wonder if he'd be happy or upset that the mirror was the catalyst to Severus and Hermione getting together... finally.
