It wasn’t until the end that we truly see what the war has left behind. Thankfully they have each other to cling to.

That is deep and solid and I could feel their thoughts and their love. Thank you - that was wonderful .

They didn't see the idyllic life of a well-matched pair sharing ideas, laughter, a vast book collection and a love of traveling slowly, not running for their lives.

In a world that is moving fast, where people are expected to always be moving up the next rung of the ladder (promotion, buying property, next level of education, new vehicle, children, etc.) it is startling to see a couple who goes the opposite way. To go slow, to be content in traveling through life... it’s a bit of a relationship goal, isn’t it? To find someone to savor life with?

It’s a shame that her parents weren’t able to see that yet. Maybe someday they’ll come around. In the meantime, it’s awfully nice to see Severus and Hermione so happy and comfortable together.

Thank you for writing and sharing, MA! ❤️❤️

Wow! So much is just a short story! I love the bit of Severus backstory you included! "By the time he came home from his first year at Hogwarts, the trains no longer meant safety. The wand at his side did."

This is such a huge story amid all of the quietness of the train journeys. It moved me deeply and I thank you for it.
