Pandora radio is not available from China. However, I would not like to be confined to only the music I brought with me on my hard drive. Any suggestions? Caveat: I dislike Last.fm.
I know Yahoo used to do music. There is also Live365. Also, my friend uses Slacker, that one isn't too bad.
If you don't mind paying, you can do an online-only (I'm pretty sure) version of XM or Sirius.
Just out of curiosity, why do you dislike Lastfm? I personally dislike Pandora due to the INSANE amount of commercials and the fact that after a certain amount of skips, you are barred from skipping.
No idea if any of those will work in China, but maybe you'll luck out.
It looks like Last.fm has changed a lot since I last used it, actually. It's not longer free, but it looks more coherent. I didn't like it before because, well, it simply didn't play music I liked, no matter what I started with. Guess you could say I didn't like their tag system. Maybe I'll give it another go.
Thanks for the other suggestions, I'm trying them out, too ^_^
Oh, I just recently found Last, though I will agree, their tagging system leaves something to be desired. Otherwise, the variety and lack of commercials is a BIG draw for me.
I haven't tried Live365 in awhile, but last I used them, they weren't too terrible.
Slacker might be my new favorite, especially because you can use it with Droid phones.
