Still haven't seen it and not exactly in a rush to, but I do like how it's apparently the longest unofficial commercial for Atlantic Canada's Moosehead Beer that you can imagine.
No, this was one of the first slasher films to corner a holiday after HALLOWEEN and FRIDAY THE 13TH. Of course there's also the entire subgenre of killer Santa movies (starting with Canada's BLACK CHRISTMAS), and LEPRECHAUN I guess has St. Patrick's Day marked out.
Also, as opposed to all the other horror films shot up here and pretending half-assedly to be set somewhere in the US, this actually makes no bones that it's set in Canada. Nova Scotia to be exact.
