I have a black or brown thumb.  Most plants I try to grow, die.   In the yard, I've probably tried to plant at least 10 plants. Currently, of those, 2 (possibly only one lives).  I've tried seeds countless times (sunflowers in the watered lawn are the exception that lived to flower

It's not you! It's the dirt. you can have someone haul fresh life-giving dirt to your yard, and things will start to grow. I think Soilutions is one place to call.

hmmmmm. that *is* encouraging! I may have to check that out! We've also been working on a compost heap for 2 years now, so there's probably some good dirt in there by now.
