So I will be building an epic, unlike anything anyone may have seen before, dream catcher. This will be a serious undertaking for me and right now I am hesitant to start the build without some support and suggestions ( Read more... )

Amethyst: drives off insomnia and nightmares, produces a peaceful sleep and pleasant, healing, even prophetic dreams. Also insures that it's wearer doesn't oversleep.

Azurite: used to increase psychic powers, and for prophetic dreams, great for divination, healing and dreamwork.

Citrine: worn at night to remove fear, to prevent nightmares, and to ensure a good nights sleep, psychic awareness

taken from crystal, gem and metal magic by scott cunningham, pretty interesting book. Plus I think those stones will look really pretty together (if you use citrine in moderation)

Hmmm...

Hematite, Rose Quartz, and Amber?

I'm not even sure of their properties, but those are the first three that popped into my head.

I would say good bets would lie in Quartz, lode stone (ugly I know but polished it could be better), and tigers eye.

Quartz for its magnifying and balancing properties

Lode stone for its drawing properties (again find it black and run through a stone polisher, to clean it up)

And tigers eye just because it looks awesome.

Hematite is my stone, well so do the fortunetellers say it's connected to the sagittarius.
Also was it quartz the old summoners used when performing? THe clear chrystal would catch the spirit and the stone would become fogged.
Also I really have to photograph the dreamcatcher I saw... An authentic looking dreamcatcher - was sold as one - but with the american flag in the middle. Isn't that a bit like having a Tora with a swastika n the front page?

And good luck with the project! n .n

Citrine occurred to me too. But the process of threes by which it occurred.. is pretty silly. :} Still, good for clarity, maybe.
