I want to say that I'm new as well, but I'm totally not new to writing Doctor Who fic anymore, am I? I think it's like, three months or so now.

Your fics are amazing. Definitely a name I look for now when I'm browsing fic to read. <3 I'll make sure to actually comment next time, instead of reading them on my phone - which I do before I go to bed, and then I end up giggling or remarking on things out loud and waking up my roommate.

I love this! This is the only fic I have ever read that portrayed young Mels and Amy together (hell, any Mels and Amy together) and I BELIEVED it completely and utterly. Not only believe they could be friends but believed the odd way Mels looked at her as both friend and mother and someone to be protected. And the little details, like where you said Mels never flinched when she was hit. And the hints about her home life during this time being... odd. And the way they talked was right for the age and personalities. And the Doctor! Everything with the Doctor! And the mention of his older companions! And the way he interacted with young!River and Amy! And the detail about Time Lord sleeping patterns (don't sleep often, but when they do it, they are OUT) that helps explain why Mels wouldn't have woken up as soon as he entered the room (trained killer much?), nonetheless when she saw him. And the gifts he left them. AND ALL OF IT! Love.
