Kirk/Bones

Kirk is forced to follow in his father's footsteps to save his crew.

Everyone is evacuated from the ship, expect for Bones, who refuses to let Kirk die alone.

I want their finaly moments/conversation.

"What the hell, Bones!"

He jumps out of his chair runs to his friend trying to pull him out of the bridge.

"Damn it Jim! The last shuttle just left so you are stuck with me, now stop pushing me, I am a doctor not a-"

What he isn't Jim will never know because he is kissing Bones now, hugging him, crying and laughing all at once.

"God Bones, I... My dad... I didn't wanna..."

"I know. Good for nothing Klingons had to make your worse nightmare come true."

Bones is holding his face with both hands now. Looking him straight in the eye.

"I couldn't let that happen, kid. Not on my watch."

"Thank you."

Those are the last word Leonard McCoy hears in this life.

Let It Be 1/2

When I find myself in times of trouble, mother Mary comes to me, speaking words of wisdom, let it be.Kirk crouched over the helm console, fingers tapping commands into the computer with a melodic rhythm akin to a pianist. The red alert siren faded into the background, and all Kirk heard was his own heartbeat, fluttering painfully against his ribs. The implosion of the Klingon fleet had caused such a disrupt in the gravitational fields that a steadily growing vortex was churning in the expanse of space before the Enterprise. A quick scan revealed that it was a hole, a great vacuum that, in time, would grow to consume the nearby planet of Taren-G. The only way to prevent such catastrophic destruction of the densely populated and tremendously important planet was to fill the void before it had a chance to stabilise

Kirk reached out and took McCoy's hand, relishing the comfort of the man's strong, purposeful hands. McCoy ran his thumb over Kirk's knuckles, and Kirk shut his eyes tightly and bit his lower lip. They remained like that for a few moments, the roar of the Enterprise simply a murmur in the background. When the two minute destruction warning flashed up onto the viewscreen and the computer voiced its concern, Kirk opened his eyes and gave McCoy's hand a squeeze.

"Thank you," Kirk said, voice soft. He looked up, and through his own quiet tears caught sight of the glistening wetness that had streaked down McCoy's cheeks as well.

"Dammit Jim," McCoy replies though nervous laughter. "The things I've done for you."

They tightened their grips on each other's hand and reflected on where they had been, where they were now, where they would never go.

And when the broken hearted people living in the world agree, there will be an answer, let it be.
