probably a lot has happened since i last posted, like getting engaged and applying to grad schools and stuff. this is irrelevant, because the real reason i wanted to write was to pass on what i think is the sickest optical illusion ever

they've actually done something like that using ERP's where they have a person push the button when they see the dot disappear. I'm not sure what it proved, or if it proved anything at all, but that's still an amazing illusion I'll agree.
