Okay, that phrase is haunting me.  This is an older fic wherein Jim keeps grabbing sticky bits of Spocks mind whenever they meld (b/c Jim is so self-destructive he's always needing a mind-meld to keep him alive until med-bay).  And at one point Spock is so frustrated coming out of the mind-meld while Jim claws at all the bonds he can that he calls

Aaahhh, you found it! It's 5x Spock melded w/Kirk & 1x Kirk melded w/Spock by ksalterego. Thank you so much. I THOUGHT it was a 5 times type fic. And wow, am I glad it's on the wayback machine. Do you know anyone who happens to have copies of ksalterego's other stories on hand? I'd love to save them for a rainy day....
