Attention: Crew Wide Announcement IMPORTANT
Hello my darling Captains, shippers and possibly shippers to be. It has come to your Admirals attention that there is some concern raised over the use of Ship War and the negative connotation that has around fandom parts. I am here to alleviate that concern (or to make it worse, really it could go either way).
The term Ship War is used here in a semi-ironic way. The whole point of this comm is first and foremost fun, we want the passion, the crack and the sparkle text with none of the bashing, wanking or viciousness (and shortly there will be very strict rules posted against this, excuse our mess as we connect the last few cords and test out those new thrusters). That doesn't mean however that good natured jibes aren't allowed, they will just be strictly moderated and completely obvious in their good natured trash talking intent. If this will be a problem for you, it is suggested that you leave now, you know your limits and we're trusting you to govern yourself appropriately.
That being said while this is a competition, the word war isn't exactly right. All members will have step outside of their preferred ship and vote on the merits of the work in question. What this means is that you as a participant have to be willing to consider something other than the story your team put up, will have to read outside of your ship and make comments within the discussion posts about what you liked/whatever about such and such work. It's certainly about being more open and yet still supporting your ship with love and macros and happiness. Yes it can and in fact has happened.
I suppose you could say we're here for a greater understanding and stronger intership relationships but honestly we're here for the fun, the great works and the shiny. We don't hold with the bitter shipping or any such nonsense and we certainly hope that this is agreed upon by all members participating.
If not, we honestly do not want you here. If you don't think you can handle reading other ships or participating in discussion about such ships or even just treating each person involved with a decent level of respect then we suggest that you leave, right now. We don't want your kind here and we won't tolerate it.
Now that you have read this, everyone who is participating (has signed up, etc) MUST sign off on this post. Please comment acknowledging that you have read this and agree with the terms of it. MAKE SURE THAT THE NAME OF YOUR TEAM IS THE TITLE OF YOUR COMMENT. If you do not comment on this post you will NOT be able to participate.
