Silly question:

Do I need to join the AO3 Trekstock page in order to post, or no?

Yes, I think that's right. If you don't know how to post to an AO3 community, just leave us a message and we'll get out some tutorial thing for you guys to follow in the next few days.

I'm really enjoying this so far (love the weekend jam session), but I have one concern/suggestion for consideration.

When the initial post went up about the types of fanworks permitted, I was delighted to see that there was no length requirement on the fiction submissions. But then a 500 word minimum was added.

As a writer whose preferred format is the 100-word drabble, this is daunting and definitely puts a damper on my ability to contribute. :( Would you consider reassessing the fiction length requirement or perhaps adding a category specifically for specific word-count drabbles? (100, 200, 250... any of those would be fine.)

Hi mareel,

I'm going to discuss this with the other admiral_mods and we'll get back to you alright. We did change that recently because we forgot to add it in the original draft and we never meant to exclude anyone. Just to know your opinion, if we'd say for example hand in three 200 word drabbles for the prompt and post them as one entry to AO3 and it will totally count towards your points and the pairings/team involved , would that be OK for you or would that be too much?

Thanks very much for your reply and for considering various options. It's much appreciated.

I think 3 x 200 might be a lot for one entry, since at least for me, each drabble is really a complete story. Using the current prompt as an example (the trek quotes), would you imagine that the 3 would have to be related (beyond being the same pairing) or that they would require use of the same quote? That would defeat the purpose for me, since that would basically become a 600 word story; however using different quotes and story themes is more of a possibility.

Perhaps either 3 x 200 unrelated except for pairing OR 2 x 250 that are related as kind of a double drabble set might be viable?

Hey,so we discussed this and we would be fine with there being 2x250 or 3x200 words which are posted together and would count as one contribution. You can totally write two/three drabbles for two/three quotes if you want to although it would be good to keep the pairing the same for all of them.
