Wrote this in 2014, at the height of "rape culture" marketing. Funny how things change, and how they don't.Q: What do you think of the male privilege of agency? What do you think of the female privilege of protection

The "violence against women" is all about sexual violence, n'est pas?
My thesis, which is tentative and very very very anonymous, is that much of what we think of as violence against women is in fact protection of their right to control access to sex.
Why is rape worse than murder? Because in addition to the violence, which I do not mean to minimize in the slightest, you're also shoplifting.
When a bunch of women's boyfriends are sleeping around with some tramp, who are the women mad at? You'd think it would be the boyfriends, right? Liars and cheaters. The tramp is just exercising her sexuality freely, surely. But no, they're mad at the tramp. She's giving the store away, and that is NO GOOD.
Reduced to its basics, what woman want is everything men have, plus control over the sex supply.
So, sure, this is so over-simplified and one-note and narrow as to be absurd, there's obviously more going on that just sex. But it is, I think, both obvious and absolutely not available for discussion.
