tuesday must have been a omen.

strangers never buy me coffee.
they must bring hurricanes!
wednesday i brought my kids to work.
school is off for the week.
thanks to rita. they were very
disappointed to learn that they
would have to make it up.
they thought it was cool that i go
across the street for caffè, alot.
they got cookies, why wouldn't they?.
they played with all the stamps i have.
then after a few hours they went home,
i waited on a last minuet ad.
i got home and packed
all the things that were
irreplaceable...stuffed animals and
darth vader masks. light sabers and
build-a-bears.
it only took 10 hours to get to austin.
not too bad when everyone and
there mother was trying to get out of town.
my sister had told us to go to her house.
she was on a cruse.
cruse    (krooz, kroos)
n.
A small earthenware container,
such as a pot or jar, for holding liquids.

ok really she was on a cruise
some where in Nova Scotia.

but anyway
we had a free place to stay
so this was worth sitting through
10 hours of traffic.
next hurricane is going to be better,
because, too many people who were
not in evacuation zones left and so
traffic was about twice as bad. next
hurricane they will all say “im not sitting
on the freeway for 20 hours to go 50
miles im staying here!” and i will get to
austin in only 5!
the kids thought it was a vacation!
they had fun. they got to go to the
childrens museum in austin
with about 250 other houston kids.
we had lunch @ Huts
met friends @ Chuy's
it was almost like a vacation! but
i was trying to decide what kind of
house i would build if the hurricane
blew ours away. and how much my insurance would pay...
lucky, all that happened was a big tree limb covered our driveway. no other damage. the drive home was not as long, only 8 hours. but, im sick of driving!

im walking to work for a few days.
