Every once in while, life decides to force you to reevaluate things. Well.. last night at a DJ Dan show I got into a stupid conversation with two very good friends, entelechy77 and another close friend. What you say is wise, but as with most things worth doing it is easier said than done. I harbor this belief that the less people know about what I truely feel, the more they will share in a wider range of topics. Perhaps this is a bad response to take for it sure is a lot of work; of course I don't have to participate in every conversation there is. :) It would definately polarize things a bit if I did become more open.

Certainly you're allowed to spend your energy however you see fit. But while you're doing the soul searching dance, might as well make sure you're getting the results you were aiming for.

I found that people will talk about more things with someone who truly knows how they feel about something than an indefferent friend. So long as your friends can deal with you not being their carbon copy, it should be good to share what you think & feel with them.
