New Job

Money isn't a lot right now, but it is enough so that I'm not working retail anymore (thank God!), plus I'm going into what I've actually been wanting to do for years now. I'm actually teaching math, I have intro algebra and an arithmetic class. Not sure how I'll teach arithmetic over a 12 week course.

Right on. It's more than worth it to take it really slow, and to give them lots of time to work in groups and things. They can do far less than you often expect that they can. It took me two full class periods for my students to be given masses and the value of c, and use these things to find the energy released in a fusion reaction.

It's very tricky getting them over that hump where they think that they can't do any of it, so they don't try.
