Are any of you getting up at 3:00 tomorrow morning to hit the early bird specials at the stores opening at 4:00?

I plan to be asleep for many hours after 3:00 and avoid all retail outlets for the duration of the weekend (unless I get really stir crazy and then I might go to the bookstore).

Good for you! I have actually contemplated running away for a couple of days myself, but I'm really enjoying my at-home time right now.

My wife did that ONE time about two years ago. I believe she went to the Galleria Mall in Roseville. She was there at o'dark thirty and it took her an hour just to find a place to park. She says "never again".

As far as I can remember, I've never once gone shopping on Black Friday, and I've certainly never gotten up in the middle of the night to save a few bucks.

Hell, I could already barely find a spot to park at the mall 3 weeks ago.

If I decide to shop tomorrow, it will be from the comfort of my own home on the computer.

I've never been to one of these madhouse sales either.....and don't ever plan to go. Then again, maybe if Sportsman's or Cabellas had a sale? ;P

It would take a cattle prod to get me to go to the mall or any retail outlet tomorrow (oddly enough, I'm not working).

Congratulations on not working. I won't be at work either unless something really catastrophic happens, but I had to use a vacation day to make that happen.

They have my cell phone number, in case it gets busier than we expect. Generally, though, people won't be shopping for wine tomorrow -- our next really busy time will be Dec 20-24, although there's a lot of special orders now too, for holiday parties.

I'm tempted- Columbia sportswear stuffs is half off until 4 PM, and you can't have too many zip up polar fleece jackets.

It will be half off again from Dec. 26th through at least mid January.

Sleep in my friend.

We have a very short window here to buy winter clothes.
By February we have people here on Spring Break.
Before Christmas they start boxing stuff up and sending it to the northern stores.
But- my town has a population of 12,000... Our black friday can only be so hectic.

I know you'd like to believe that. You do what you have to do, and I'll be home with the cats all day. I don't need more of anything badly enough to go out shopping in a town of about a million idiots tomorrow.

Love you, darlin'. Don't go out with the crazy people. If you must, wear some hunter orange.
