Another Entry!

Wow! Two in one day and so close together. Actually the following entry is something I wrote a little while ago, early on the morning of July 18th.

Click to see The Disclaimer of what to expect from my journal entries. Might explain my moods a bit or that I'm not always the sum of my entry.

Now for the actually entry:

The human race is doomed, but not to end in fiery damnation. No, the fate of our existence is much worse. We will drag our half-rotting corpse of a species on for eternity. that is not to say that we are a wretched creation capable of only evil, on the contrary, I think it is the fact that we are so capable of both that condemns us so. If we were only going to become more and more infected with our own sinister and darker qualities then eventually we would destroy ourselves. If we were to elevate ourselves to the higher ground as some might say evolution suggests then we would live in Utopia. Assuming of course evolution allows us to surpass those darker, base urges but I don't believe it will.

The Human Race is built with both good and evil inside them. Some people are more inclined to one or another through choices conciously made or otherwise like allowing circumstances or events shape you or how you view the world. Still, as a whole, there will always be good and evil amongst the people of this world. No matter how good things are there will always be something to strive for or fight against because people are made with survival instincts. These instincts create need and need creates greed, everything will never be enough and when there is not enough someone will always be willing to take. No matter how bad things get those same survival instincts will force us to struggle and survive to try and make things better for ourselves, at the cost of others for the good of others. This ensures that even while we are pulling and tearing at our shared body we are mending it as well.

The infection of evil and corruption that apparently threatens to overtake us? It will always recede before it consumes us completely because we are simply cowards and liars. Someone will bend over before it's too late, or someone will run and hide until it's over. No one likes to think they are wrong and so we always believe we were right, but when face with death or demise we will tell the other side what it wants to hear. Furthermore even if you can concede the conclusion was incorrect, you'll "know" the emotions or the beliefs, the core of the decision was right. So the idea that you had to rid the world of the people who were rotting it with their differences of ideology or sexuality or whatever it is this week, is simply pushed back and held onto until you find a way to unleash it once again, the poisonous rhetoric or campaign.

As for evolution and the idea that one day we will reach perfection and ascend to a higher plane? I ask for the proof that we are growing, moving towards perfection. I see that yes, we have moved beyond the ancient technology of beating something we want over the head and dragging it back to our caves so to speak. I believe that we haven't changed our ways persay, so much as changed the rules to the game we once played. The game has become more complex, more than one rulebook is in play and no one knows which one we're reading. Those same impulses are there: want, take, have; we're only delaying gratification. As for our technology and other "improvements?" We did make some major strides however we usually did so with a total disregard of balance or all (if any) consequence very far beyond the immediate. Cars as we all know, are causing huge complications to the environment, as is the treatment and hunting of certain animals. Resources are curtailing and we march on assured of our survival, believing so diligently in the idea that the next invention will save us from actually having to repair any of the damage we've done. We don't have to change as long as we can surpass. Survive.

And we probably will. Devouring everything in our paths.

A friend of mine jokingly calls me Destroyer of Worlds, but I feel a pang in the idea that it's a fitting title for everyone.

rambling, notions, observations
