Sweat, anger, perseverance, and the stubborn mentality of a bull made all my efforts possible today. I managed with no prior knowledge to defeat the TDSS Trojan. This one is particularly nasty. Unfortunately, I don't have a convienient way to back up my harddrive. I suppose I could go through and individually select the files I wish to actually perserve. That would take forever, but would leave me with a more manageable set of data. My 300 gig external is full from media.

Yeah, I'm currently halfheartedly thinking about how to resolve the issue that Vista is the devil. It's got some... interesting... driver issues, which on my computer are currently manageable but irritating as all get out.

The solution is easy. Get rid of Vista or use a free scan on one of the top anti's and manually go through the registries to rid yourself of the known issues. I finally got a fresh install of XoftSpySE and McAfee and salvaged my computer files.

Oh, I don't have a virus issue. I have a "Vista is hopelessly busted and a patch has pissed off my drivers" issue.

Reverting to XP is becoming more appealing... I'll have to see if I have the disks from my old computer around somewhere.
