Yes, I realize that I'm terribly late, but I'm also bored. Drabble meme. Ask me for anything, but if I don't know the characters, or can't find a bunny, I may ask for a second request.
What do you expect at 4:30 in the morning?stacked_deckFebruary 6 2006, 12:44:36 UTC
Sasuke circled his older brother cautiously, his ears forward, tail twitching. A soft growl rumbled in his throat. He inched closer on all fours, hissing periodically as he stared at Itachi, attention fixed on his every move. Itachi, for his part, watched Sasuke with slitted eyes, unimpressed by the display of feline ferocity.
“I’m going to kill you,” the younger Uchiha spat, back arching.
Itachi huffed. “Is that so?”
His only response was another hiss as Sasuke threw himself at Itachi, swiping wildly, claws out.
Itachi rolled his eyes and flopped over on his side, swishing his tail away from Sasuke a little too slowly. His little brother caught it, giving out a happy chirp, and rolled over, hind legs kicking in a useless disemboweling move while he latched on to Itachi’s tail. Within moments, he was purring and licking his former prey avidly.
Itachi made a mental note to remember that supplying catnip to his brother while in this form was not only bad for his karma, it was a little lacking in common sense.
Damn me and my literal mind.stacked_deckFebruary 7 2006, 06:52:50 UTC
It was finally going to happen. They were going to get out. All of them. The barrier was coming down--they’d learned its secret, and channeled the energy the kept it running into a parallel universe (what happened to it there, no one knew), and the power was already starting to fluctuate. The sky was green or red, or full of fish as the field sputtered and flared. Trees tried to crawl away from it. The campers stayed back for the moment, as Inui had already been zapped into some kind of large beetle, but soon...
They congregated in a clearing at the edge of what had been deemed a safe distance, no one wanting to be left behind when the barrier fell.
It was only coincidence that the meteor hit there.
Sometimes things got to a point where even Jayne had to step in and say that it wasn’t right, and a kid like Ari? Yeah, he’d be a time like that. Or a person like that. Or whatever you’d call it.
The point was, the kid might as well have a target on his back most times, and most time there was at least one or two people who were willing to take the shot. Sharp talking was all good, but sometimes, a man--even a weak, little, young man--had to be able to make a stand, right?
Tilde wasn’t the powerhouse Vera or some of the other girls were, but she was a nice, lean little gun, and shouldn’t be too much for Ari to handle. So Jayne slapped her in the kid’s hands and dragged him out for some shooting. Ari protested a bit, hemmed and hawed, and scuffed, but finally Jayne got him to aim at some of the zombies.
Bam! No more zombie. Or close enough to it. The thing feel down and stayed there.
Proving once again that solving most problems was just a matter of finding a gun the right size.
