an email from my Dad about the condition of my Grandma:

Just touching base on Mom's (Gma's) condition - it is apparent that she has suffered another
stroke in the past few days - Suzie had told me of the changes in her condition yesterday,
and she put her on the phone with me and Carolyn today to see for ourselves, and the change
was profoundly sad

aww i'm so sorry to hear that. can't the doctor's do anything for her?

from what my parents have been telling me, there's not much they can do. plus she has a "no heroic measures" thing (can't think of the technical term) kind of like a dnr. the thing thats really getting me is that i know that if this feels this frustrating for me, i can only imagine how frustrating it is for her.

Hopefully she doesn't realize how bad it is. :( I mean, from our standpoint, it must be really frustrating that she can't express herself, but maybe she doesn't even know that she isn't communicating clearly.
