We have wild strawberries in our yard but they taste horrible. My mother was very upset after picking a bowl--she's used to the wild ones being better. We did get currants from our CSA this week--hooray more fruit!

We did pull in our first raspberries yesterday. That patch needs some major maintenance, but I couldn't get Jon to actually come dig, rather than just agree it needed to be done. Even the basic patching this year was too much work. So they're very hard to pick since you can't reach most of the patch! If we do put in a fence I might give up on the walkway all the way around and just stuff them up against the fence instead. It's that or a bunch of paving stones set into the ground!

Still considering a blueberry bush or two somewhere. If I get no help caring for it, then it's a pretty bush that attracts birds!
