I am in heaven. Steak heaven. I think I just had the best steak of my life.

I had a flat iron steak from Johnny Carinos. A Flat Iron Steak is actually a new steak invention, made from a previously thought untender cut of meat

The problem is that every steak method (including Alton's), makes a lot of smoke. I have a little apartment hood that does not work at all, so I would set off the smoke alarms. I also live in an apartment with sprinklers, and im not sure how sensitive they are.

Blue Bell is always the best ice cream to use.

And steak....goodness. There is a steak place on the way to Houston on 36 I believe in the town of Somerville. It looks like a little house but it is always surrounded by truckers and bikers (thats how you know its good). The smallest steak will fill a hearty appetite and they always cook to perfection.

In fact I think its called Somerville Steak house. Found it! YUM!

We ought to have you over sometime this summer and do the cubes-of-meat-on-skewers thing. (We use sirloin for that.) Vegetables optional, and if you want vegetables on your skewer of meat, you can decide just which ones you want, especially if you're willing to help assemble the stuff before grilling.
