Normally I would say go with the cheaper pair, but the customer service at sock dreams is usually toughtful, so I would just ask them which would be better for computer work in a cold room.
I'd go with the mostly-cotton, but that's just my issue with synthetics rearing its head.
When I was typing in a cold room, I bought a pair of $3 gloves at HEB and just cut the ends off the fingers. I ended up with bits of yarn flaking off, a lot the first day, and then bits here and there for the next week.
I'd totally go with the second one if I had it to do over again now.
