I am sure there is much I will be learning that would intrigue you, particularly given the current emphasis on digital access in libraries.

Personally, my big question is marketing based - how do we make the general public aware of the collections and services available for them to even ask about? Most library marketing is based on people ALREADY using the library (because that's cheapest) but my concern is the masses of people who don't realize it might be a place that could offer things they don't associate with stereotypical images of dusty shelves and ancient tomes. When E and I started dating it hadn't even occurred to him to try and use his widget to access an online catalog - if the tech-saavy aren't thinking to start there, who else isn't realizing we could help them, even remotely/online? Oh, and get this word out to the public on a shoestring, no less...

It is a similar problem I face with being a small press.

Definitely interesting stuff to think about!
