THOR!
Okay so saw Thor.
1. Still don't like Thor/Jane. They haven't been together in canon for ages and mostly because I like Sif. I understand that this is an intro movie and she needs to be in it. Don't like that Jane was an astrophysist instead of a medical doctor. But I guess with the science angle they were trying to do it made sense. But at the end you could tell Sif had a 'thing' for Thor, which was nice to see. Hopefully they will do something with it in the next movie.
2. The exterior shots of Asgard were really good. I was happy that while they mostly showed the city, Asgard wasn't /just/ the city. I hate that they did that in canon. I liked the special effects with the Bi-Frost bridge.
3. They also did a good job with the Destroyer armor. Sif had a moment of awesome. That's my girl.
4. The casting of it all was really good and spot on...except Heimdall. I'm sorry. Casting the role just because they needed a token black person was dumb. The Norse gods were...well Norse. There were no African Norse people during ancient times and not to mention in canon Heimdall was Sif's brother. Loved Ray Stevenson as Volstagg, but I still see him as Titus Pullo to this day. Everyone else was spot on and great.
5. Loved that they kept that Thor loves his brother no matter what Loki does. They were raised as brothers and that bond should be there. Also liked that Loki was doing it all to be equal to Thor in Odin's eyes, which is a big part of canon.
6. Also liked that the Asgardians served whomever was on the throne, no matter who it is. The Warriors Three and Sif didn't like it, but they were really subtle about what they were doing instead of outright rebelling. Like in canon, they serve Asgard and not an individual.
7. I didn't like the whole Donald Blake thing in canon, but I do like how they handled it in the movie. He didn't turn into Donald Blake, but it was just an alias. I liked that much better.
8. Yay Hawkeye cameo!!!
9. I didn't like that Thor learned his lesson so fast, but I guess when you only have two hours to work with it can't take too much time.
10. Loved the cosmic cube in the easter egg at the end. Still don't like Ultimate Nick Fury.
11. Cap trailer was good as well as the trailer for The Immortals.
I would like to see it again.
