Well, ain't this fucked up?So, instead of using these 'millions of dollars' for more useful efforts like medical care or education or to take better care of the environment...they are used to have *ADULTS* abstain from sex before marriage. Because, you know, peoples' sex lives aren't their own business, it's the business of every citizen in the ( Read more... )

Yeah. Obviously, all Americans over the age of eighteen are still too stupid to make their own decisions on their sex lives.

There's so much stupid in this I don't even know where to start.

I suppose it's not awful that they want to teach teens to abstain from sex until maybe they are out of high school. But...adults? People that are in college or already out in the working world? People that can think more clearly on this subject and make better decisions on who they want to sleep with?

I just don't like it when people, whether parents of teens or the government, get involved in other peoples' sex lives.

The reason you say that is because you want to fuck every person that crosses your path.

No. It's because it's stupid to want to force everyone to abstain from sex, even responsible adults. Seriously, why not fund birth control? Or give more money to free clinics so they can hand out birth control or teach safe sex classes? That would also help to bring the number of out-of-wedlock births down.

Why force all US citizens to abstain just because a few white, rich prudes in DC aren't comfortable with people having sex?

it does seem kinda pointless..but if it means less babies hopefully, then i dont mind. less babies=better for the environment anyway

But teaching people about how to use birth control properly would also help the problem. You'd be surprised as to how many people still can't handle the easy process of taking 'The Pill'.

Abstinence is a nice ideal and I don't mind that some people follow that, but it's not very practical nowadays. Besides, I just don't like how it's being shoved down everyone's throats.

*groans*

What a complete waste of money, it would definetely be better spent on sexual education and handing out birth controls.

I'm really appreciating my mother more and more. She never once lied to me about sex - got the full story at five - and always made it clear that she would not at all mind me having it as long as I was legal (it's 15 here) and did it responsibly.
