I just noticed a neat trick in Firefox.  As in IE, typing in the main portion of a URL and pressing CTRL + Enter automatically adds the www. and .com  to the address.

Additionally in Firefox, pressing Shift + Enter completes the URL with .net and CTRL + Shift + Enter completes the URL with .org!
