man. i have had a semi- vacation like that...all except it really wasn't a vacation. when i was in 10th grade i competed in our denomination's National Youth Competition(NYC). however, before NYC i had to qualify at the state level. qualification rounds were held in Black Mountain, NC. i do NOT have fond memories of that place. let me 'splain: 1)we got lost on the way up the day before competition took place and weren't even sure if we were going to make it in time to qualify. 2) when we finally got to the super 8(that was the most horrid motel i have ever stayed in, bar-none) i had to try to sleep on a bed that was like a rock. not even kidding. 3)i rolled off the bed and procured to myself a huge knot on the back of my head by hitting the side table.4)i was supposed to perform at 8 in the morning, i got there, and because they were so unorganized in the way they ran that thing, i didn't sing until 4 in the afternoon. but i ended up going anyway to Nationals and getting 5th in the nation! so the Devil did everything in his power to
