Day 1
Casinos are closing at 8pm tonight.
Worry immediately set in about Eddie losing his job and me, then, losing my insurance (I’m a dependent on his plan). He has Medicare, but I’ve started researching getting onto my company’s plan. I’ve been cut back to 3 days a week, but that’s better than nothing.
We just learned he will be paid for 2 weeks and then use his 2 weeks PTO and 5 days since time, so 3 weeks. Anything after that will be on us. The downside is that he, and the other 8 guys in the entertainment department, have to rotate shifts and go into work to keep all the systems running. Even though the casino will be empty of guests and 80% of employees, there will still be employees to interact with. There will still be dirty surfaces that have not, and will not be sanitized. There will still be a chance that he can bring this thing into our house. So while I’m happy for the income, I will spend the next 2 weeks worrying if he is washing his hands and being careful and another 2 weeks after that to see if we get sick. Enter through the back door and take all shoes off at the door, spray with a bleach solution. Remove clothing and change into house clothes. This is how things will have to be.
