A friend of mine who was put on medicine for her very mild Tourette's syndrome, also a neurological condition, had a problem with her doctor. The medicine fucked over her middle and high school years. It caused her to become really unhealthy by making it basically impossible for her to process food in the normal way. This made her obscenely obese. It turned out later, when she switched doctors, that not only did she not need that medicine because in her case it caused more problems that it solved (fact her old doctor chose to ignore), but the dose she was prescribed was way too big for her. Many of her migranes were caused by being in a constant state of OD. Whats worse, it was either this same doctor or his colleague from the same clinic that put her on hormone treatments for some problems, which I think were side effects of the medicine. She never grew taller then 4'9 ( ... )

um, yeah, you need some new doctors. seriously. it actually took me a long time and several doctors for them to take my headaches seriously, they blew me off the same way they do you. or one doctor put me on an ibuprofin/caffiene regimen, which isn't super healthy. finally my best doctor (dr. reilly, who is sadly gone or i would recommend you to her) suggested physical therapy and i said oh hells yeah, sign me up. and it worked. it'll take away the neck pain and the headaches and probably some other problem you didn't even realize was related to it, like maybe the tingling. you need to find a doctor who'll give you a referral. a doctor who either ignores your problems or just prescribes nasty drugs is a fuckin douche, dump his sorry ass. Until you can get into PT I suggest exercising a bit more, it'll loosen the muscles and improve blood flow. I can show you a couple PT exercises and streches. they won't be tailored to your problem, and don't sue me if something goes wrong, but they might help a bit until you can get the real ( ... )

Jess, I think you might need to check into whether you have fibromyalgia. You're symptoms sound exactly like mine. A couple of years ago I had headaches so bad that I would suddenly be on the ground and not remember how I got there. I went to a bunch of specialists who thought I had brain tumors or epilepsy but none of them were right. It turned out that the muscles in my neck were so messed up that I was getting headaches that made me pass out and fall down. I am now on flexirol to lossen the musles and I get cranial sacral therapy once a year that is covered by my insurance becuase my doctor understands that I need it. Give me a call if you want to borrow some of my books on fibromyalgia. 278-8371.
