I was mildly amused by one of the questions of the day on NPR's "Wait Wait, Don't Tell Me."

Question - "How will we get ourselves out of this financial mess?"

Answer - "We will have Sarah Palin put on some lipstick and talk the money out of the president of Pakistan."

This morning I had the TV on in the background, not paying any attention to it. I usually enjoy watching the Sunday morning political shoes, such as Meet the Press and ABC This Week with George Stayontopofthis. Today, November 10, is the thirty second anniversary of the wreck and sinking of the Edmund Fitzgerald, which was part of the American fresh water fleet. The ship sank in Lake Superior, during a firce storm. The ship, at the time of its demise, was being guided by the Arthur Anderson because the storm had claimed the Fitzgeriald's radar tower.
