Oh so much not being said! I REALLY love your Spike and Angel is this story. They are being so wonderfully fleshed out.

And the Jesus question? LOL! I read a story about 10 years ago in one of my horror anthology books about that particular theory. It was set up as an "Interview with a Vampire" kind of thing and the interviewer (who had been turned by the vampire so he could understand better what it was to BE a vampire) asked about his aversion to crosses and resurrection. The vampire said he had been in an unpleasant situation regarding a cross.

The story took place at Christmas time and then the vampire asked if they should go greet the children caroling and partake of some of their blood (not to drain them) and that afterall, wasn't it okay since they were singing about his birthday anyway?!

Creepy. *shivers*

What a great twist - no wonder you remember it. My older sister used to freak me out by reading me horrors - others got Goldilocks, nope, not me! *Finally* got over the trauma she inflicted and adore creepy stories now.

The Spike/Angel interaction was wonderful, the pool scene sweet and touching, and the "flirting" scene very funny indeed. Love it.
