I just received a copy of my friend's new book on Gentle Discipline last night and am really really blown away. It is amazing and I can't recommend it highly enough. There is an entire section on dealing with your own parental anger, millions of examples, great essays, and more. You can even hear about how Katie Granju thinks about hitting her kids ( Read more... )

Thanks for the suggestion! I am reading books like that daily (well, at least a paragraph here and there when I get time) - it helps me a LOT.

For a while I shunned parenting advice books, saying my intuition served me best, blah blah blah. That was until Duncan hit the challenging 3's and I realized I don't know shit.
