Good News, bad news
Good news: I'm starting a four day weekend.
Bad news: school is closed Friday and Monday due to flu epidemic - 2 confirmed cases of Swine Flu, 18 teachers and 34 students sent home with temps of 100plus and over 250 students absent. Some of that is good weather and end-of-year-itis, but still...

Writer's Block: My Biggest Environmental Pet Peeve
I have a lot of gripes about the way people treat the environment, but gas guzzling vehicles have got to be my pet peeve. At least the big gas-sucking Caddillacs and Lincolns of my childhood are pretty much gone, but they've been replaced by Fuel sucking, gigantic SUVs and pickups driven by people that have no need for them -well, other than ( Read more... ) -
Writer's Block: Places to Lay Your Head
home has been 35 places in 11 states and four countries other than the US, not counting ships and TDYs. My favorite place is my current home in Lockport, NY...my least favorite would be a toss-up between Browns Mills, NJ, Tuzla AB, Bosnia and Baghdad, Iraq.

Writer's Block: Same Name
Yep, actually I've run into three first and last name matches. What's funny is, I'm a retired AF Officer, my degrees are in Medical Technology and Engineering.
One of these other Ed Stalkers is/was a Professor of Engineering, one was a Doctor...and the third is an career Army NCO.

Well, plenty of Marching and Running songs. I have an MP3 player with 208 songs on it, and I'd bet I can sing THEM all by heart...
"Early Morning Rain" by Gordon Lightfoot, "Back in the LPA" by Dos Gringos, "Ambush" and "What'cha gonna do, PL?" by SWC...that sort of music. Just about anything by Jimmy Buffet or John Denver...

Out of airspeed and altitude
Now, if you're not from Buffalo, you probably don't remember that a commuter plane, Colgan 3407, went down a few months ago. It was a dark and stormy night, icy, and 50 people died that night.
A lot of the passengers were local people, and the National Transportation Safety Board Hearings about this crash are big news here.
