Things have sure changed for me since a year or two back, when I was heavily considering a PVR. Hulu's been the biggest change. I've watched countless Silver Spoons, Doogie Howser, M.D., Buck Rogers, and Green Wing episodes through it, as well as a lot of miscellaneous episodes I've missed of other shows, like Lie to Me, and Castle. If I can't find something on there that I've missed, like the latest 2 eps of True Blood in 720P, I just hit up the torrents. I'm getting them both right now, in fact, 1.5GB each, with estimates of <3hrs total for both.

There are only a few shows I keep up with on my actual TV now, usually less than 1 per night. They include Eureka, Legend of the Seeker (currently post-season), Merlin, and the new SyFy show, Warehouse 13, which I'm having a hard time getting into.

I appreciate the info, however. I need to get back on the treadmill, and may soon find myself in the living room a lot more often, regretting not having one, as there are large blocks of time during which cable plays nothing at all of any value

The great thing about a computer-based PVR is that it lets you aggregate internet-downloaded programming and cable/OTA programming into a single library with a single UI.
