1. Name: Aliya.

2. Age: 16.

3. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you choose?

The place where I will most definitely end up is Vancouver BC, because my entire family lives there and it truly feels like home. Many people call me crazy for wanting to stay close to my relatives, but I feel blessed to have such wonderful relations, and being away from them makes my own family socially isolated (we live in London). I just spent my fifth summer there, and it was amazing, driving down clean and spacious streets, living in beautiful houses, feeling safe from crime. I love the mellow lifestyle and the beautiful freshness of Canada, and I know that it's where I'd want to settle and raise a family.

However, at some point I'd love to live in New York, because I am a city girl at heart. Skylines, bright lights, and night life :)

4. What would your Room of Requirement look like?

It would be deep red, with sheer and coloured drapes everywhere, sort of Arabian-nights-esque. Beautiful glass lamps, cushions all over the spacious floor, grand mirrors on the walls and an archway leading out to the balcony. There will be an enchanted view from the balcony of a river reflecting the city across, and the stars. Inside the actual room will be a large bed , also draped with sheer material, and I will use it to relax with a hot mug of tea and a large novel.

The actual point of this room will be to get away from work and irritating people. Bliss.

5. Who is your least favorite Harry Potter character?

Ginny Weasley. This might be an unexpected answer, but her bashful personality has a slight air of arrogance in it, and that's enough to put me off. I can't forget the way she harshly insulted Hermione for Harry in HBP, and someone who puts her boyfriend that high above her friends isn't someone I'd want to associate with. Of course I don't hate her, but she is my least favoured out of the others.

Obviously there are characters such as Dolores Umbridge, Voldemort and Bellatrix Lestrange, but they have already been identified as bad people, I don't need to justify my reasons for hating them.

6. Is the glass half empty or half full?

Half full. Although I am a recognised pessimist, I've never considered the glass to be half empty, and this is a small glimmer of hope for me.

7. Give us a quotation (Can be from a famous person, a song, or even a poem-whatever you want) you feel represents your life or personality.

"Unplayed pianos are often by a window
In a room where nobody loved goes
She sits alone with her silent song
Won't somebody bring her home?"

- Damien Rice, "Unplayed Piano"

8. In your life, who comes first: family or friends?

At this stage in life, my love goes in between my family and friends, and leans more towards my friends. But I know that my family love me more than my friends ever will, and they will be with me till the end of my life, so my family holds more long-term value in my heart. But obviously at the moment I feel most comfortable around my friends.

9. What is your favorite childhood memory?

Running around in a five star hotel at a wedding in my little sari and Indian sequin shoes, throwing petals and playing with my cousins. It was then that I didn't have to worry about my looks, because at the age of two everyone thought I was beautiful and adorable, like all children are. I also miss the times when my cousins and I weren't awkward around each other after leaving childhood. Lastly, I just love five star hotels and expensive cake.

10. What would you say is your biggest flaw?

Being too trusting. I often confide in others easily, and end up being exposed by them. No matter how many times I tell myself to be cautious, I pour my heart out to strangers in order to make some sort of connection, but it backfires on me and I end up drifting away in the end due to humiliation and loss of faith in people.

11. If you had been at Hogwarts during Harry’s fifth year, do you think that you would have joined the D.A.?
Definitely, I'd be up there with them, rebelling against the bad side to help fight the dark side.

12. Describe how you react to difficult or stressful situations.

I break down into tears and go into a depressive state. I don't react well to reassurance from my friends because I feel that it is an automatic response from them (not that I don't apprecicate it, but it has no major effect on my mood). I try to avoid the situation by hiding in my room, but constantly dwell over it. I wait until the situation has blown over or softened, and then emerge and try to build myself back up again.

13. Which do you value more: compassion or justice?

Compassion. But justice is something that the world shouldn't be without, for obvious reasons.

14. Would you say that you’re a child at heart, or that you have an old soul?

Child at heart. I often miss the simplicity of childhood compared to teenage drama. I can be extremely immature and fear growing older, which is why I dread birthdays. Birthdays were special when you were younger, because it was all about balloons, cake and presents. My philosophical side increases with my age and it's not something I treasure.

15. Which Hogwarts House do you think that the Sorting Hat would place you in?

I'd like to think Ravenclaw, but I'm not particularly bright or sharp, so it would most likely be Hufflepuff..
