1. Name: Erica.

2. Age: Fifteen.

3. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you choose? I really haven't been able to experience much of the world yet, given my age, but I know for sure that I'd like to be in an urban area. I currently reside in the suburbs of Chicago, so I'm familiar with the downtown area of the city and think it would be a fantastic place to live. Of course, New York City clearly outshines Chicago in terms of vivacity and diversity, so there's another possibility. Oh, and Los Angeles. Someplace in Europe appeals to me as well - perhaps London (though I hear the food's terrible) or Paris (I have to say, I am a total Francophile). I love to travel, though, so if things go my way, I'll be able to spend a bit of time in each location mentioned above!

4. What would your Room of Requirement look like? Oh, wow, when I was younger I fantasized about being an interior designer, so this is an excellent question. I think a variety of looks could work for me, as long as the room wasn't too stark or too traditional. I'd go head over heels for something swanky and stylish - something with blacks and metallics and then a sudden splash of color, perhaps lime green or magenta. Something simple, but sophisticated and trendy. Of course, I'd need a television and a computer, too. ;D

5. Who is your least favorite Harry Potter character? Most likely Hermione Granger. Yes, I realize she's one of the central characters and that the series would be nothing without her presence, but she can be so annoying! Her constant whining and complaining grates on my nerves (as I imagine it does Harry and Ron's) and most importantly, she is an insufferable know-it-all. I hate know-it-alls. Maybe it's Emma Watson's interpretation of her in the movies (augh, the eyebrows), but I just cannot stand her. There's also Hagrid, whose purpose has yet to be discovered. I perceive him as a bumbling, oversized fool who needs to hang out with peeps his own age, and I actually anticipated his death while awaiting the release of HBP.

6. Is the glass half empty or half full? That would depend upon if the glass contained, say, milk (which I abhor, so it would be half empty) or, say, sparkling grape juice (which I adore, so it would be half full). It would also depend on my mood.

7. Give us a quotation (Can be from a famous person, a song, or even a poem - whatever you want) you feel represents your life or personality. "Look at the past as a bullet. Once it's fired, it's finished." - Catherine Bauby. Man, don't ask me who this Bauby lady is 'cause I just happened to come across this via the wonder that is TEH INTARWEB, but considering some of the recent events in my life, this quote really gets to me.

8. In your life, who comes first: family or friends? I don't know if I could answer that. How about... they're the same? I am much closer to my friends than my family - I trust my friends more, I enjoy myself more when in the company of my friends, and I might even so far as to say that I love my friends more. And yet, I am not entirely detached from my family. We are connected by blood, and I do confess that I feel obligated at times to put them first.

9. What is your favorite childhood memory? I have a few, but there was this one time when I was about six or seven years old, and I was attempting to learn how to ride a bicycle - sans training wheels, mind you! I had spent all morning and all afternoon pedaling tirelessly back and forth inside my cul-de-sac, but to no avail. At one point, all the neighborhood kids came out and sat on someone's driveway and started to cheer me on. I guess the applause and encouraging shouts had some sort of influence because I finally was able to ride down the entire length of my street without losing control of the handlebars or falling over or anything. The sun had barely begun to set, I was getting to be an absolute demon on my little Precious Pearls two-wheeler, and it was just the loveliest feeling.

10. What would you say is your biggest flaw? I'll admit that I'm gluttonous, both literally and metaphorically! I can bulldoze through a box of those scrumptious Mozart chocolates, and I have no self-discipline when it comes to midnight cravings. I occupy myself with lots and lots of projects to "keep busy," but never seem to stay with one thing long enough to see it through. Briefly put, I overindulge. Like crazy.

11. If you had been at Hogwarts during Harry's fifth year, do you think that you would have joined the D.A.? Maybe. I would have wanted the chance to further develop my abilities, but I don't know that I would have liked Harry & Co. too much. Besides, there would have been the possibility of getting in trouble.

12. Describe how you react to difficult or stressful situations. Hm. Most of the time I put off actually confronting my dilemma. I'll distract myself with other things until it is absolutely, positively necessary time to face whatever I need to face and then I very, very reluctantly go do whatever it is I need to do. Support from the people around me is needed muchly - either as a crutch to lean on during tumultuous times or as a forceful push to get me moving.

13. Which do you value more: compassion or justice? I'm going to say justice. Every action must be followed by a consequence, and only the weak buckle down and demonstrate compassion when dealing out a punishment. I admire someone who has the guts to lay down the law and carry it out, rather than make an exception because they feel a pang of sympathy.

14. Would you say that you're a child at heart, or that you have an old soul? I am definitely a child at heart. I am excitable and imaginative. I am fun-loving and like to keep myself busy because boredom is the most effective form of torture for me. I'm spontaneous and inquisitive. On the other hand, I have a tendency to be rather immature and even a smidgen obnoxious in my pursuits for
attention. :x

15. Which Hogwarts House do you think that the Sorting Hat would place you in? To be totally honest, I have no idea whatsoever! Some aspects of my personality place me in Hufflepuff (I am generally good-natured and loyal to my especially close friends), some place me in Ravenclaw (I have an insatiable curiosity about my surroundings). I'm sort of a Gryffindor (I am bold and extroverted) and yet, sort of a Slytherin (I am ambitious and, when necessary, cunning.)

16. If you have a picture of yourself and feel comfortable posting it, please do so! Pictures are fun!

S'old, thanks.
